  2. The Clocks Screen

  4. (Hint: Run WorldClock Lite and refer to the screen while reading this documentation page
  5. from a printout.)

  8. The screen that automatically appears when you first run WorldClock Lite is 
  9. the Clocks screen.  In addition to the map with day/night pattern and the 
  10. locations of the sun and moon, five clocks are displayed.
  11.  
  12. The clocks were set prior to distribution to Honolulu, Los Angeles, Denver, 
  13. Chicago, and New York.  You may change the "location" of any clock by 
  14. clicking once on the clock.  This brings up a scrolling list of over 180 world-
  15. wide locations.  Click on the location of your choice, and then click the Select 
  16. button (or double-click on the location).  The clock will display the time at the 
  17. chosen location, including correction for daylight savings time if it is in effect 
  18. at that location.

  20. The brightness of each clock face indicates the daylight, twilight, or nighttime 
  21. condition at the respective location.  Nighttime is shown with a black clock face, 
  22. twilight with varying shades of gray.  Sunrise and sunset is shown with red and
  23. orange hues on a color screen.

  25. A small "s" in the upper right hand corner of each clock indicates that standard 
  26. time is in effect at the clock's location.  "d" indicates that daylight savings time 
  27. (or an equivalent such as European summer time) is in use.  Each clock shows 
  28. the great-circle distance in statute miles from the computer's "home" location 
  29. (displayed at the top of the window) to the clock's location.

  31. Each clock also shows the time difference in hours and minutes from the 
  32. computer's "home" location to the location of that clock.

  34. The location of each clock is displayed in a small rectangle on the map.  The 
  35. computer's location on the map is marked with a small circle and cross (red on 
  36. a color display).

  38. Click once on the digital clock panel to change to universal time.  Click again to 
  39. return to the panel to local time.
